Masters
Classes and Workshops
Masters classes
and workshops are available for advanced students of taiko
and other taiko groups who request technical assistance
in various facets of the art, including taiko basics, composition,
and organizational development. Masters classes can be provided
for percussion and music students to introduce the art of
taiko to complement their music curriculum. Team building
workshops are also offered to corporations and other special
interest groups, using the taiko as a tool to develop unity,
cooperation and group creativity.
Public
Workshops
Throughout the year San Jose Taiko offers
workshops at several levels for the general public. Workshops typically last three
hours and include a brief history of taiko, a demonstration of a variety of taiko
and related percussion instruments, and hands-on experience with the drum focusing
on form, stance, and technique.
